Brian Rodgers

Born 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland, Brian grew up with a love for music. By the age of ten Brian began playing rhythms on anything that was around him. It was then he realized his passion for playing drums. Like so many other drummers, his drumming career began by playing on pots and pans in his mother’s kitchen, and sometimes pillows. Even though he played the cornet in elementary and jr. high school his passion for the drums far surpassed a desire to play any other instrument.

Brian has played all styles of music in several small bands. He spent years emulating some of the fineness drummers known by their recorded materials and shows. Many of these performers have met with him at drummer clinics. He developed his own style of playing, and was enjoying his envolment with secular groups, but found no true fulfillment in his performances.

In the process of perfecting his own style of playing, when in 1989 Brian gave his heart and life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. God saw fit to call him out of the secular field of music and to exclusively use his gift as a ministry to glorify God. His life is blessed with a wonderful wife, Della, who supports, and encourages his musical achievements. Brian’s life is also blessed as a mentor to his grandson, David Byrd AKA “Dink” who follows closely in granddad’s love for playing drums.

This man of God is seeing God’s plan unfolding in his life, and what God has been preparing him for all along. That plan and preparation has been for ministry, not just, in how he presents himself in his daily work with the Lord in the sight of others, but with his music. Brian is a member at Calvary Christian Evangelistic Church, were he ministers and attends with his family.

In 2005, Brian’s wifes' attention was drawn to a television ad “Gospel Group Seeks Drummer”. She called him on his cell phone concerning the ad while he was driving to work. He responded to the Wise Men And Wise Men Ministries and has made the positive spiritual impact this ministry strives to uphold.

When asked for his favorite Bible verse he responds with:

St John 15: 16     Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

To God Be The Glory
