THE ALARM
Imagine if you will a fine museum with its marble floors and towering
pillars reaching a glorious tiled ceiling. The walls covered with the most magnificent oil paintings ever produced. Center
staged in this theater of art stands a magnificent rock pedestal that supports the most exuberant, eye-catching vase ever
created. Seeming as its shaped curves were designed by heavenly beings themselves and adorned with brilliant colors that could
only be dreamed of but never produced by even the greatest artists. A skylight centered above this one of a kind artifact
seems to stream light rays upon it directly from heavens glorious beams.
Day in and day out, droves of people parade by and marvel this
beautiful structure. With no indications given that the vase is well guarded by state-of-the-art security. Well calibrated
and monitored, its keepers and admirers could never foresee the tampering or removal of this valuable treasure without an
instant alarm alert. Uniformed guards routinely conducting lock down of the building and a complete search for unauthorized
personnel throughout the establishment before admitting the scheduled bonded maintenance crew for janitorial services. With
four armed guards standing on every side of the pedestal on which the vase stood, the janitors would carry out their cleaning
task with extreme care. During this time the alarm systems covering the vase and its area were shut down. A security office
monitored the entire cleaning procedure from a video control room. Once the task of cleaning was complete the janitorial staff
would be habitually ushered from the building and all alarms reset, while constantly a guard had locked eyes on the video
monitor.
The calibrated security system that surrounded the pedestal would
activate the alarm even with an accumulation of dust and would need resetting. Severe weather would cause the alarm system
to automatically reset for stormy conditions. Unexpected, an evening shower became a fierce storm. Whether beaten an unforeseen,
the skylight began to leak. One small drop at a time, eventually setting off the alarm system. The guards stationed at the
video monitor saw no indications of anything wrong. Characteristically the security force checked the entire building. Finding
all things to appear normal, the security system was calibrated, and the alarm interruption was noted in the logbook while
all personnel returned to their post. As time passed the storm lighten but it continued to rain. The leak from the skylight
decreased but was persistent. Eventually the alarm was activated again. As before, the security team did their routine check.
Finding once more all things seeming to be in place and with no intrusions on the premises, they returned to their post and
as before the alarm was reset.
As the hours went deeper into the night, and the rain continued,
the vase took in more water. With the alarm system becoming more annoying by the hour, the consideration of having the alarm
system evaluated by professionals was part of that evening's discussion among the guards. The rain stopped, day hours began,
and the doors open for business to the public. Once again art lovers viewed all that the museum had to offer. For the next
few days there seem to be no problem with any parts of the alarm system, for the vase was calibrated unknowingly with the
weight of the water in it.
As evening approached, heavy clouds rolled in and another storm
took place. As before, the skylight began to lick. One drop at a time, producing the same reaction from the alarm and the
same activities of the guards, repeatedly, several times in an hour until the storm stopped. The leaking skylight was never
suspected or detected as being the problem. The alarm calibrations were reset and finally the evening when on without another
incident. Suddenly, lightning struck and severed the electrical wiring and burnt out the alarm's backup system causing a complete
blackout throughout the community. Each guard became complacent in their duties an overly confident in their safety behind
locked doors. As the morning sun appeared through the skylight, it had become apparent that there had been an intrusion, for
the magnificent vase had vanished.
The vase and its center stage placement in the museum represents
mans placement on earth by God. The man who stays where God placed him is in position to receive Gods blessings. As the sunlight
passed through the skylight and cast itself upon the vase, the light of God will shine upon and through the man for all to
see. Like the water filling the vase while it set in its place, so shall the spirit of God fill the man that stands in the
please God puts him.
The spirit filled man will eventually set off alarms in his surroundings.
He will speak out when people care not to hear him. His message will cause some to run around, looking aimlessly for other
solutions to what disturbs them, rather than taking heed to his alarm. Some will just try to shut the alarm off, while others
will try to re-calibrate him in attempt to change his alarming message.
Blessed are those who heed to the alarm and allow themselves to
become the vessel, filled with water (Gods Holy Spirit), standing upon the rock pedestal, (the word of God). As in the case
of the water filled vase disappearing when least expected, so shall the spirit filled man be taken away, as if by a thief
in the night.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the
trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
NOTE: The
term "caught up" in the Greek- harpazo means to snatch or seize.
Rapture is from the Latin word raptus.
